Express Entry is currently processing most applications within 6 to 8 months from the date of submission. This timeline applies to all three programs under Express Entry: Canadian Experience Class (CEC), Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSW), and Federal Skilled Trades Program (FST). IRCC aims to process 80% of applications within 6 months.

Processing times can vary significantly based on several factors including application completeness, background checks, medical examination results, and the volume of applications received. Recent improvements to IRCC's digital systems have helped reduce processing times compared to previous years. However, incomplete applications or missing documents can lead to significant delays beyond the standard processing time.

The Express Entry system uses a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score to rank candidates. While your CRS score determines your invitation to apply, it does not affect processing time once you've submitted your application. All applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis within their category, regardless of CRS score.
