Go Far Global is a Toronto immigration consultancy. We publish news and guides on Canadian immigration so readers can understand the rules before they apply. This page explains how we research those articles, how we check and correct them, and what the dates on them mean.
Who writes our articles
Each article shows a byline with the name of the person it is credited to. Where that person has an author page, the byline links to it, so you can see their role and credentials. For example, the licence of our consultant Rami Mamar (RCIC-IRB, R515110) can be checked on the public register of the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC).
How we research
We base our articles on official sources and link to them, so you can read the original yourself. The main ones are:
- Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) on canada.ca, including program pages, processing times, fees and ministerial instructions
- Provincial and territorial nominee program websites and their published draw results
- The Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada and the federal laws and regulations on the Justice Laws website
- The College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC), for rules that apply to licensed consultants
Articles list their sources in the text or in a Sources section at the end. When we add observations from our own client work, we say so, and we keep them separate from what the official source says.
How we check facts
Figures that change often, such as fees, processing times, CRS cut-off scores, draw sizes and deadlines, are checked against the official page they come from. When a figure is only true as of a certain date, the article says which date. If an official source and a news report disagree, we follow the official source.
Corrections
When we find an error, or a reader reports one, we check it against the official source. If the article is wrong, we fix it. When the correction changes something a reader may rely on, such as a fee, a date or an eligibility rule, we also update the article's Updated date.
What the dates mean
- Published is the date the article first went live.
- Updated is the date of the last substantive change: a new rule, new figures, a change in eligibility, or a correction.
We do not change the date for spelling fixes, formatting or layout changes, or to make an article look newer than it is.
