The Intra-Company Transfer (ICT) work permit is an LMIA-exempt pathway that allows multinational companies to temporarily transfer key employees to their Canadian operations.
ICT is available for three categories: executives who direct the organization, senior managers who manage the organization or a department, and workers with specialized knowledge of the company's products or processes.
The transferee must have worked for the company abroad for at least one year within the three years before the transfer. The Canadian and foreign entities must have a qualifying relationship.
