An open work permit is not tied to a specific employer, giving you the freedom to work for almost any employer in Canada. These permits are issued in specific circumstances to certain categories of workers.
Open work permits are available to spouses of skilled workers and international students, post-graduation work permit holders, applicants waiting for permanent residence decisions, and others in specific situations.
While open work permits offer flexibility, they are only available in certain circumstances. You cannot simply apply for one without meeting specific eligibility criteria.
