Immigration Pathways by Occupation

The National Occupational Classification (NOC) system categorizes all occupations in Canada. Each occupation has a unique 5-digit NOC code that determines immigration eligibility.

The Training, Education, Experience and Responsibilities (TEER) system replaced the NOC skill levels in 2022:

• TEER 0: Management occupations
• TEER 1: University degree required
• TEER 2: College diploma or apprenticeship (2+ years)
• TEER 3: College diploma or apprenticeship (less than 2 years)
• TEER 4: High school diploma or occupation-specific training
• TEER 5: Short-term work demonstration

For Express Entry, only TEER 0, 1, 2, and 3 occupations are eligible. Each occupation page provides detailed information about requirements, pathways, and job prospects specific to that NOC code.
