Does IRCC read webforms?
Short answer: Yes. IRCC built the form as the online contact channel and tells you that you will get an AOR after you submit. The contact IRCC page also says agents do not have more details than what is available online. Reading the form is not the same as changing the decision. IRCC can help with general questions, the same status you already see, and finding information on canada.ca. It cannot advise you on which program to apply for, speed a file that is not already eligible for urgent processing, or issue a decision through the form.
If you appointed a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC), the consultant should already be on the file. Do not send a parallel personal web form that contradicts what the representative submitted. If you need a firm to review whether a web form is even the right tool, book a consultation.
Does WebForm delay processing?
Short answer: IRCC does not say that filing a web form pauses a complete application. What it does say is the opposite of "file more to go faster": if the application is still in process and you have not been asked for anything, you do not need to do anything else, and another web form will not speed things up. A badly labelled form can waste a cycle. IRCC lists the wrong drop-down choices (Status document instead of Temporary Residence, Visitor Record instead of Temporary Resident Visa) as common mistakes. A form that asks IRCC to "expedite" a file that is still inside the posted time is the request IRCC already told you it will not grant, unless you already qualify for urgent processing.
The useful delay-related use is the one IRCC wrote down: ask about the application if it is over the normal processing time, or send a document IRCC requested. For GCKey lockouts, start with the GCKey help page and our GCKey login guide, then use the technical-problem path if the portal itself is broken.
How to check IRCC webform status?
Short answer: There is no separate public "web-form status" tracker. Proof that IRCC received the form is the AOR it sends after you submit, as stated on the web-form page. Status of the underlying application still lives in your IRCC account or the check application status tool. If you applied on paper, status may take longer to appear. Calling 1-888-242-2100 from inside Canada reaches the automated line 24 hours a day and live agents Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. local time. IRCC says those agents still cannot see more than the online tracker.
Keep the AOR email. If you send a second form, you will get another AOR. That is two receipts, not two decisions.
What if you are outside Canada?
Short answer: The web form is the contact path IRCC publishes for people who cannot use the Canada-only phone line. 1-888-242-2100 is toll-free in Canada. The contact IRCC page sends visa-office contact only if IRCC told you to contact that office. Do not email a random visa-office inbox that a forum posted. If a crisis or special measure applies, IRCC points you to special measures and a separate crisis web form, not the generic application form.
