Are Mexican degrees valid in Canada?
For study, a Mexican high school or bachelor's degree is accepted by Canadian schools, which set their own admission standards and often ask for an equivalency assessment. For work and immigration, you usually need an Educational Credential Assessment from an IRCC-approved organization to show your Mexican qualification equals a Canadian one. The Government of Canada also explains foreign credential validation for public-service jobs. Get the assessment early if you plan to move from study to permanent residence, because the report is reused across several immigration programs.
Can I get a 100% scholarship to study in Canada?
Fully funded scholarships exist but are competitive and limited, mostly at the graduate level. Individual universities offer entrance awards, and some federal and provincial programs fund specific research streams. A full ride that covers tuition and living costs is rare for undergraduates, so most Mexican students combine a partial scholarship, family funds, and part-time work. Do not build your study permit application around a scholarship you have not yet received, because IRCC wants proof of funds that are confirmed and available now.
How can I study in Canada for free?
There is no general free-tuition route for international students in Canada. The closest paths are a full scholarship, an employer or government sponsorship, or a funded graduate assistantship where a research stipend offsets your costs. Public messaging that promises free study usually refers to these narrow cases. Plan a realistic budget, apply for every award your program offers, and treat any funding you win as a bonus on top of confirmed proof of funds rather than the foundation of your application.
Can I go to Canada if I'm Mexican?
Yes. Mexico is a close partner, and Canada continues to welcome Mexican students, workers, and visitors. What changed in 2024 is the entry document, not your right to come. With a valid study permit approval you receive the matching visa or eTA, and you travel on your Mexican passport. Keep your documents current, carry your letter of acceptance and proof of funds when you fly, and apply early so processing delays do not push past your program start date.
Why work with a licensed consultant before you apply?
A refused study permit is hard to undo, and the file you build now also shapes your later move to permanent residence. Go Far Global is a licensed Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) firm in Toronto, regulated by the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC). We help Mexican students choose a program that leads somewhere, prepare a fundable application, and plan the study-to-PR path from the start. Book a consultation to get your plan reviewed before you submit.
