About the YNP

The Yukon Nominee Program (YNP) serves Canada's Yukon territory, known for its stunning landscapes, gold rush history, and small but vibrant communities. Despite its remote location, Yukon has a growing economy and actively recruits immigrants.

Whitehorse, the capital, is surprisingly modern with a thriving arts scene, excellent outdoor recreation, and strong community. The territory's economy includes mining, tourism, and government services, with growing tech and remote work opportunities.

In 2026 the process starts with the employer. Employers submit an online expression of interest during one of two intake periods (January 19 to 30 and July 6 to 17, 2026), and invited employers then submit the full application. For 2026 the Government of Yukon is prioritizing regulated health care professionals, employers in rural Yukon, and foreign nationals who have lived and worked in Yukon for at least a year, Yukon University graduates, Francophone or French-speaking candidates, and people who received a Temporary Measure Letter of Support in 2024 or 2025.

The Yukon Community Program, a pilot that supported nominations for part-time and seasonal work in communities outside Whitehorse, concluded on June 30, 2025. It is no longer accepting candidates.
