Federal Skilled Worker 67 Points: Eligibility and Jobs 2026
As of September 3, 2026. The Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) is the Express Entry stream for people whose skilled work was mostly abroad. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) uses a 100-point grid. You need 67 points or more to enter the pool. That 67 is not your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. CRS is the later ranking used in rounds of invitations.

Who is eligible for the federal skilled worker program in Canada?
Short answer: You may qualify if you meet every minimum on IRCC's Federal Skilled Worker Program page (date modified June 22, 2026) and then score 67 or more out of 100 on the selection factors. Minimums: paid skilled work in National Occupational Classification (NOC) TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3; the same NOC as your primary occupation; duties that match the lead statement and most main duties; work obtained in the last 10 years in Canada or abroad; at least 1 year continuous or 1,560 hours total at 30 hours per week; approved English or French tests with a score in writing, reading, listening, and speaking; Canadian secondary or post-secondary credentials, or a foreign credential plus an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA); and a plan to live outside Quebec. Volunteer work and unpaid internships do not count. Hours above 30 per week do not count extra.
If you score under 67, you do not qualify for this program. If you score 67 or more, you may submit an Express Entry profile. Invitations still depend on CRS and the round type. Check the grid on a CRS calculator after you know you clear 67, not instead of 67.

Age points lock on the day IRCC gets the permanent residence application: 12 points at 18-35, then down each year to 0 at 47 and older. Experience points: 9 for 1 year, 11 for 2-3 years, 13 for 4-5 years, 15 for 6 or more years. Second official language is 4 points only with at least CLB 5 in all 4 abilities.
What jobs qualify for the FSWP?
Short answer: IRCC does not publish a closed "FSWP job list." The job must be TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 in the NOC, and it must be the primary occupation you use on the file. IRCC describes skilled workers as managers and supervisors, and people in jobs that usually need a university degree, a college diploma, or apprenticeship training. Find your NOC first, then confirm TEER. Your primary occupation may not be your most recent job. Choose the NOC that matches the work you actually did. IRCC says a mismatch delays processing and puts you against the wrong program.
Count 1,560 hours as: one full-time job at up to 30 hours per week for 12 months; part-time that adds up to 1,560 hours (for example 15 hours per week for 24 months); or full-time at more than one job totalling 30 hours per week for 12 months. Student work can count if it was paid, continuous, and otherwise eligible. Self-employed work can count toward selection-factor experience points. The occupation still has to be TEER 0-3.

Arranged employment can add up to 10 points if the offer is continuous, paid, full-time (minimum 30 hours/week), not seasonal, for at least 1 year, in TEER 0-3, and you fit one of IRCC's four Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) or LMIA-exempt situations. A job offer is not mandatory to enter as a Federal Skilled Worker.
Which skilled worker is in demand in Canada?
Short answer: The FSWP page does not name 2026 shortage occupations. Eligibility is the TEER 0-3 test plus the 67-point grid, not a government in-demand list. Express Entry also runs category-based rounds. Those categories are announced on the rounds of invitations pages, round by round. A category round can invite people already in the pool who match that category. It does not rewrite FSWP minimums. If a consultant shows you a 2026 "most in-demand jobs" graphic with no IRCC URL, treat it as marketing.
Language is often the practical bottleneck. Below CLB 7 in any of the four abilities, the first-official-language table says you are not eligible to apply. CLB 7 is 4 points per ability (16 if all four sit at 7). CLB 8 is 5 each. CLB 9 or higher is 6 each. Take a test IRCC lists on language test results.
Proof of funds is another gate. IRCC updated the settlement table on July 7, 2025, using 50% of the low income cut-off. You need proof of funds for FSWP and for the Federal Skilled Trades Program unless you are invited under CEC or you are authorized to work in Canada and have a valid job offer. Keep the figure current in the profile. IRCC asked pool candidates to update no later than July 28, 2025.

Count yourself, your spouse or common-law partner, and dependent children, even if they are Canadian citizens or not travelling with you. Equity in real property is not proof. You need bank letters on letterhead with the details IRCC lists.
What occupations are eligible for the Federal skilled worker Program?
Short answer: Eligible occupations are skilled jobs in TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 that you actually performed, in the last 10 years, as paid work, for at least 1,560 hours, matching the NOC lead statement and most main duties. There is no extra IRCC annex of named FSWP titles. Quebec-bound applicants use Quebec's programs, not this one. You may count work gained while living in Quebec if you can prove you do not plan to settle there. Provincial nominees must settle in the province that nominated them.
Foreign education needs an ECA for immigration purposes. The report must be less than 5 years old when you complete the profile and when you apply. In most cases you assess only the highest credential. To claim points for two or more credentials, assess each one. A Canadian degree or diploma does not need an ECA.
Adaptability is a 10-point cap. IRCC lets you combine items such as a spouse or common-law partner at CLB 4 in all 4 abilities (5 points), two academic years of full-time study in Canada (5), or the same study by your spouse (5). Language tests used for those spouse points are valid for 2 years and must be valid on the day you apply for permanent residence. Full-time study means at least 15 hours of classes per week in a program at least 2 years long, in good academic standing.
